ABOUT BRAD

More than fashion.
A journey to authenticity.

I don’t believe confidence begins when you leave the house. It begins the moment you stop dressing for strangers and start becoming comfortable with yourself.

MY STORY

The most important thing I discovered about style had nothing to do with clothes.

It was the freedom that comes from letting go of other people’s expectations. Fashion became a way to express that freedom—and a way to help others find it for themselves.

WHERE IT BEGAN

One sarong. One question: why not?

Almost thirty years ago, while riding a Vespa around the Greek island of Kos, I realised I was getting sunburnt. A roadside shop sold only sarongs, so I bought one and wrapped it around my waist.

The freedom stayed with me. During the COVID lockdowns, that memory returned. When Melbourne reopened, I visited a local op shop, found several skirts I genuinely liked and began styling them in a way that felt masculine, comfortable and completely my own.

The response was overwhelmingly positive—but something more important had changed. I had stopped getting dressed for the imagined judgement of strangers.

BREAKING THE SOCIAL MATRIX

“Too many men are chasing validation and social acceptance from strangers and peers.”

Real confidence begins when we stop allowing a peer group—or a stranger—to define who we are permitted to become.

WHY GETTING DRESSED WITH BRAD EXISTS

Fashion is the vehicle.
Confidence is the destination.

01

Challenge conformity

Question the unwritten rules that tell people what they should wear, how they should act and who they should be.

02

Build confidence

Use personal style as a practical first step towards stronger self-belief in every part of life.

03

Celebrate everyone

Create an inclusive community where individuality is welcomed across gender, sexuality, culture and background.

STYLE WITHOUT BOUNDARIES

Genderless.
Masculine.
Unapologetically personal.

My wardrobe is flexible rather than restricted by a department-store label. I combine skirts with boots, tailoring, shirts and everyday pieces to create looks that feel masculine and authentic to me.

The inspiration reaches from centuries of men wearing skirted garments in the Roman Empire and ancient Egypt to modern designers and style leaders including Thom Browne, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood.

I call the skirt a “Cape of Confidence.” It represents the moment you step beyond peer pressure and discover that self-expression can strengthen far more than your wardrobe.
